Magomisquog- "Grand View Place/ Great Rock Place" Milford MA. Pt. 3
Continuing my series of the great rock place on the hill in Milford, MA. From this hill by the (modern day) powerlines one can see the adjacent hill of what is today Fortune Blvd. From the hills of Fortune Blvd. one can see the hills of Bear Hill. So what we have here is 3 adjacent hills (all large hills) all with stone-work on them such as propped boulders (although disturbed by modern development) which seems to explain the Native translation of Magomisquog, a "hill with a grand view place/ great rock place."
The boulder on the left and the right of the ledge used to be joined by a stone wall/row, but this row was blown to smithereens when the power-lines were put in:
Boulder 1 from last pic, view A:
View B, with the remaining wall link:
View C, also lining up with other boulders on the other side of the work-way:
Boulder 2 from the first pic, with the remaining wall link:
Another propped boulder:
A line of boulders:
The crest of the larger boulder is probably aligned to an azimuth/ alignment:
